As horses get older, their needs start to change
Dental needs: As horses age they wear their teeth down so that they can no longer grind their food very well. They also are more susceptible to gum and tooth root diseases
Nutritional needs: As their teeth wear and they can no longer chew hay well, their nutritional needs change as well. We can provide nutritional advice for your older horse
Metabolic disease testing: Many older horses have a metabolic disease called PPID (Cushing's disease). It can lead to a variety of effects such as laminitis, muscle wasting, slow spring shedding, and weight loss.
