Preventative Care

Preventative care is the key to keeping our horses healthy and can prevent future emergencies

  • Annual Wellness Exams: We recommend a yearly physical exam that includes a check of your horse's vital signs, appearance and overall health

  • Vaccines: For the prevention of sometimes deadly diseases such as Tetanus, Eastern and Western Encephalitis, West Nile Virus, Potomac Horse Fever, and Rabies.  There are also vaccines against diseases that make your horse very sick and can pass quickly from horse to horse, such as influenza and rhinopneumonitis

  • Digital Coggins (EIA): Equine Infectious Anemia testing with a negative result is required by competition venues, most boarding facilities, and generally for interstate travel

  • Fecal Checks and De-worming:  Identify if your horse has worm eggs in its manure and then appropriately de-worm based on the results. Recommended De-worming Schedule Here

  • Nutritional Consultation:  Excessive weight loss or weight gain could be a cause for concern.  Call us with questions regarding your horse’s weight and diet
